Pola Museum of Art “Scrap Paper Universe“ Exhibition

As a special part of the “Scrap Paper Universe” exhibit that was held at the Pola Museum of Art, we put on a WA!SK workshop using Joan Miro’s “A Toute Epreuve” as the theme. A Toute Epreuve is a picture book created by Miro, that was created using wood block and collage techniques and was inspired by the poetry of Paul Eluard. It is divided into three themes, “Universe/Loneliness”, “Production” and “Women we love”. It combines various motifs, such as stars, moons, people and birds, with printed text. With over 80 pages, it took around tens years to complete. For the workshop, we took parts of the motifs and used them to create a WA!SK. Utilizing these parts, that were drawn with uniquely coordinated contours and hues, we were able to give birth to a WA!SK with an appearance that has never been seen before.
