Leaflet for Japan Media Arts Festival

We designed a child-oriented leaflet for the 18th Japan Media Arts Festival. In order to convey what the festival, and what media arts in general, are all about, in an easy to understand manner, we not only used a visual design and information, but added a feature where the leaflet itself becomes a metaphor for media art. This is where the “fold and play” idea was born. You can fold and play with the leaflet’s exterior like origami. Folding it in half will change it into a character, allowing you to produce various images and visual points from one piece of paper. The four characters were drawn to represent images of the four categories of the festival. The backside is configured in an easy to understand manner with basic festival information aligning the axis of the characters.
